Day 1. Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (Olgas).
Welcomed on arrival at Ayers Rock Airport prior to 1.00 p.m. for transfer to your hotel. Travel to the western section of the national park to tour the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta. Walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge and learn of the local ancient Aboriginal legends. In the late afternoon, stop to enjoy a glass of wine while admiring Uluru at sunset. Watch as the sun sinks below the desert plain. This evening enjoy all the resort’s facilities (own expense).

Day 2. Uluru at Sunrise, Mutitjulu, Mala Walk.
Rise early and enjoy a tea or coffee as the sun casts its first rays on the scarred surface of Uluru. With the sun still climbing, take a guided walk to Mutitjulu waterhole. See cave paintings and hear the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Tour the base of Uluru before joining your guide and learn about the geology and flora of the region on the Mala Walk. Explore Kantju Gorge before visiting the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative, you may see Aboriginal artists at work. Alternatively, forgo the Mala Walk and Kantju Gorge to climb Uluru. Transfer to Ayers Rock Airport for flight after midday.

Day 1. Ayers Rock Resort, Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Walpa (Olga) Gorge, Uluru Sunset Drinks.
Welcomed on arrival at Ayers Rock Airport prior to 1.00 p.m. and transferred to your hotel. Drive out to the magnificent domes of Kata Tjuta, where 36 dramatic rock formations dominate the skyline. Enjoy the walk into majestic Walpa (Olga) Gorge. At sunset, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you watch the changing colours of Uluru and the surrounding desert plain. This evening, enjoy the fabulous facilities of the resort (own expense).

Day 2. Uluru Tour, ‘Sounds of Silence’ Dinner.
Watch the first light of day strike Uluru, then join the guided Mala Walk and then explore Kantju Gorge, a sacred waterhole. Alternatively, climb Uluru. Visit the Cultural Centre and then the Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative, where you may see Aboriginal artists at work. Tonight, experience the ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner. Sample Australian delicacies and listen to the didgeridoo, an astronomer then takes you on a guided tour of the Outback night skies.

Day 3. Depart Ayers Rock.
Time for optional activities before transfer to the airport.

Day 3. Kings Canyon Guided Walks, Kings Creek Station, Alice Springs.
Enjoy a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon through the ‘Garden of Eden’ to see the view (requires a good degree of fitness). An alternative, relaxed walk along the shaded canyon floor is available. This afternoon travel to the town of Alice Springs, stopping en route at Kings Creek Cattle Station.

5 Days Red Centre Discovery

Day 1. Alice Springs Town Tour.
Arrive in Alice Springs by midday and be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of this friendly Outback town. Visit the historic Telegraph Station, the School of the Air and the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Then climb Anzac Hill for spectacular views over the township and of the dry Todd River which ‘runs’ through the town.
Two Night Stay: Alice Springs, choice of hotel.

Day 2. West MacDonnell Ranges, Desert Park. (L)
Departing Alice Springs we journey to the rugged but beautiful West MacDonnell National Park to explore Simpsons Gap. Continue on to the sacred site of Angkerle (Standley Chasm) where you can take the opportunity to walk into this stunning natural feature. Marvel at the sheer vertical walls towering above you, just five metres apart. Later visit the Alice Springs Desert Park. Wander the interactive exhibits detailing harsh Australian desert habitats and the wildlife that call them home. At the Desert Park there’s also the chance to learn more about the indigenous history of this land.

Day 3. Outback Camel Farm, Kata Tjuta (Olgas).
Depart Alice Springs and visit the Outback Camel Farm. Continue via the famous Stuart Highway to Ayers Rock Resort. Early in the afternoon tour to the remarkable rock formation of Kata Tjuta and enjoy a guided walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Then travel to Uluru (Ayers Rock) for sunset drinks while watching the spectacular light show on Uluru.

Day 4. Uluru Touring, ‘Sounds of Silence’ Dinner.
Return to Uluru for sunrise. Enjoy a tea or coffee as the sun first casts its light on the scarred surface of the great monolith. Join a guided walk to the Mutitjulu waterhole. Then join the Mala Walk and explore Kantju Gorge. Or, forgo the Mutitjulu and Mala walks to climb Uluru. This evening, experience the ‘Sounds of Silence’ Dinner in the desert. Relax and savour gourmet Australian cuisine served under the Outback stars.

Day 5. Ayers Rock Resort at Leisure.
Enjoy a free morning before transferring to Ayers Rock Airport.
