adventure in Belize! Day 2 - 7: Launch at Belize River and watch for monkeys, toucans, green kingfishers and locals diving in the cool waters. Float down the Macal River and see a cave full of ancient Mayan pottery shards. Explore the Mayan ruin of Xuanantunich and learn from our expert on local plants, birds and animals. Travel the Hummingbird Highway and inner tube on the Caves Branch river through underground chambers of stalactites and stalagmites. At the rural village of Gale's Point, we sail and watch for the West Indian manatee (sea cow), explore limestone caves and look for local wildlife. Travel to the Cockscomb Basin and explore waterfalls, rivers and jungle life—an area rich with more than 290 species of tropical birds! (camp, combo, lodge) Day 8 - 11: We board a local boat and head
off to the cayes out on the Barrier Reef. We swim, snorkel, fish,
windsurf and paddle kayaks in the most beautiful coral reef imaginable.+
Stars blanket the evening sky while we feast on delicious seafood
freshly caught by our local guide. In the afternoon of Day 11, we
take a boat shuttle back to Placencia. (camp, combo, lodge) Nights 11 - Day 12: We check in to a local lodge for rest and showers, then an evening meal followed by musical nightlife. The next morning, after breakfast, a local flight takes you back to Belize City for connection with international flights.
