2.5 Day Flinders Ranges Safari Tour

Day 1 - Adelaide to Parachilna
Leaving Adelaide we travel through Clare Valley then continue on to Kanyaka Homestead the Flinders Ranges. We stop and view rock art at Yourambulla Caves before heading for our overnight dorm accommodation at Parachilna. (LD)

Day 2 - Flinders Ranges & Wilpena Pound
Enjoy a scenic drive through Parachilna Gorge before arriving at Wilpena Pound, the jewel of the Flinders Ranges. Pull out the hiking boots for a guided climb of Mt Ohlssen-Bagge and you will be rewarded with fantastic views over the ranges, the desert and Lake Torrens. After lunch, we travel to remote Rawnsley Park sheep station where we stay overnight in dorms. (BLD)

Day 3 - Rawnsley Park to Adelaide
This morning we travel back to Adelaide with Stateliner coaches departing Port Augusta at 0910am, arriving back into Adelaide at 1.10pm.

2 Day ‘Slippery Seal’ Kangaroo Island Tour

Day 1 - Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
We make our way out of Adelaide through the scenic hills of the Fleurieu Peninsula. When we arrive at Cape Jervis, we board the SeaLink ferry across Backstairs Passage (45 minute trip) to Penneshaw, where we meet your local island guide. It’s not far to our first stop at Pennington Bay, one of the Island’s stunning surf beaches. Get amongst sea lions in their natural habitat on our guided walk at Seal Bay, an experience you won’t forget! Scramble up the white sand hills at Little Sahara and get up close to more wildlife (including koalas) at the Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary. We arrive at our farm-stay accommodation late in the afternoon. After dinner, get ready to spot kangaroos, wallabies and possums on a guided nocturnal walk. (LD)

Day 2 - Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
We spend the morning in Flinders Chase National Park. Clamber on the huge granite outcrops of Remarkable Rocks, sculpted by nature over hundreds of years. A colony of New Zealand fur seals resides at Admirals Arch on Cape du Couedic, watch while they frolic in the ocean or lap up the sunshine! We’ll have lunch at Rocky River Headquarters, where there’s time to check out the Information Centre; start point for the Snake Lagoon and Platypus Walks (seasonal choice). After lunch, we travel through the central farming region to the North Coast, visiting Stokes Bay, where a rock runnel leads to an idyllic beach (seasonal). We then return to Penneshaw, with time to purchase dinner (own expense) before returning to the mainland and Adelaide. (BL)

3 Day Adelaide to Melbourne Safari


Day 1 - Adelaide to Grampians NP
An early start this morning, driving through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, crossing the mighty Murray River, passing through South Australian country towns to today’s destination, the magnificent Grampians National Park. We spend the afternoon hiking at Hollow Mountain & the amazing MacKenzie Falls, finishing the day with breathtaking sunset views from The Balconies and Reeds Lookout. Overnight is at Halls Gap. (D)

Day 2 - Grampians NP via the Great Ocean Rd to Princetown
Start the morning with a challenging hike to the ‘Pinnacle’, exploring the natural wonders and breathtaking views this national park has to offer. We visit Brambuks Aboriginal Cultural Centre before heading south to the coast & Warrnambool for a chance to view whales (seasonal). The renowned Great Ocean Road beckons for us to explore its beauty. You will see the Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge before enjoying sunset over the Twelve Apostles. Stay overnight in the townshipof Princetown. (B,D)

Day 3 - Princetown to Melbourne
This morning we enjoy an early sunrise at the Twelve Apostles before making our way down Gibson Steps to the beach for a different perspective of these amazing formations. Next up we spend time at the awesome Otway Fly, (a 25 meter high elevated tree top walk). Continuing on we pass through the magnificent cool temperate rain forests of the Otway National Park, onto the coastal towns of Apollo Bay and Lorne, exploring the pristine beaches & gorges. We make our way via the world famous Bells Beach to Torquay (home of Quicksilver and Rip Curl) after clearing the shops of bargains we head to the our final destination of Melbourne. (B)

Up early for the Uluru sunrise where you can enjoy a base walk or choose to climb Uluru, then take a guided interpretive walk at Mala. We visit Kata Tjuta(Olgas) and head to Kings Canyon for our overnight camp. (BLD)

Day 6 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

14 Day Adelaide to Darwin Safari

Day 1 – Adelaide to Parachilna
We travel through the picturesque Clare Valley to Alligator Gorge in the Southern Flinders Ranges, renowned for its unique ruggedness and distinct flora and fauna. Here we stretch our legs on an interpretive walk and then continue on to the historic railway township of Quorn. In the afternoon we view Aboriginal rock art at Yourambulla Caves and continue on to Parachilna for a memorable ‘Aussie BBQ’ (including local game). Overnight Parachilna. (LD)

Day 2 – Flinders Ranges & Wilpena Pound
We drive through Parachilna Gorge (weather permitting) before arriving at Wilpena Pound to climb Mt Ohlssen-Bagge for fantastic views over the ranges. After lunch, we travel to remote Rawnsley Park sheep station where we stay overnight in bunkhouse accommodation. (BLD)

Day 3 – Rawnsley Park to Coober Pedy
Today we journey north along the Stuart Highway to Coober Pedy. Enjoy an opal mine tour with a chance to go opal fossicking (time permitting). We stay in an underground bunkhouse in Coober Pedy. (BLD)

Day 4 – Coober Pedy to Uluru
We drive through rugged desert country to Yulara for sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock) then view the stars from our overnight permanent camp. (BLD)

Day 5 – Uluru to Kata Tjuta & Kings Canyon
Up early for the Uluru sunrise where you can enjoy a base walk or choose to climb Uluru, followed by a guided interpretive walk at Mala. We visit Kata Tjuta (Olgas) and head to Kings Canyon for our overnight camp and delicious camp oven dinner. (BLD)

Day 6 – Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Hike and explore Kings Canyon including the breathtaking North and South Walls, the ‘Lost City’ and ‘Garden of Eden’. After lunch we depart for Alice Springs. Overnight dorm accommodation included. (BL)

Day 9 – Alice Springs to Banka Banka
We cross the Tropic of Capricorn then pull over at Ti Tree for the opportunity to purchase authentic Aboriginal art. Next stop is the Barrow Creek Pub where we view the historic Telegraph Station. Further ‘up the track’ we explore the Devils Marbles; precariously balanced granite boulders sacred to the traditional owners’, before arriving at Banka Banka Cattle Station where we camp overnight. Weather permitting - take a dip in the picturesque waterhole. (LD)

Day 10 – Banka Banka to Katherine Gorge
We head further north to the famous outback pub at Daly Waters, the oldest pub in the Northern Territory and first international airport in Australia! After lunch we travel to Mataranka to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the crystal clear thermal springs. Late afternoon we travel towards the magnificent Katherine Gorge for our overnight camp. (BLD)

Day 11 – Katherine Gorge to Darwin
Spend half a day canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the spectacular gorge. There is also the chance for a scenic helicopter flight (at own expense) to appreciate the vastness of the gorge system. After lunch we head into Darwin via Edith Falls and Adelaide River. (BL)

Day 12 - Darwin to Mary River
See the falls of Litchfield National Park before heading to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands, home to a vast array of bird life. This afternoon look for ‘crocs’ and other abundant wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge where we stay overnight in our private campsite. (LD)

Day 13 - Mary River to Kakadu
Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal rock art and climb to enjoy picturesque views. We continue on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we hike to the plunge pools for a refreshing dip. Stay overnight at our permanent camp within Kakadu NP. (BLD)

Day 14 - Kakadu to Darwin
This morning we 4WD into the awesome Jim Jim Falls, hiking to the base of the falls then continue on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall and sandy bank. In the afternoon we return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. (BL)
