Cape York "Explorer" & "Discoverer"

The Cape York "Explorer" is a 7 day fly/drive camping safari that explores one of Australia's last great wilderness regions - a land of history and ancient culture, crystal clear spring-fed creeks, huge termite mounds, and a vast and amazing variety of natural landscapes, including Iron Range National Park.

Day 1 - Mon (LD): Fly over the Great Barrier Reef to Cape York. Visit the Lockerbie Scrub before taking an emotional walk to the very top of Australia, CAPE YORK! Camp at Punsand Bay on Torres Strait shore.

Day 2 - Tue (BLD): South to Fruit Bat Falls for lunch and a refreshing swim. Onward along the Telegraph Track to our camp in the wilderness.

Day 3 - Wed (BLD): Across the Wenlock and Pascoe Rivers (conditions permitting) to Iron Range National Park, Australia’s largest remaining area of tropical lowland rainforest. Camp at Chili Beach.

Day 4 - Thu (BLD): Visit Portland Roads and see other secrets hidden in the Iron Range rainforest. Leave through Tozers Gap and visit Batavia gold fields. Camp at Archer River.

Day 5 - Fri (BLD): Coen, Musgrave and on to explore Lakefield National Park. Camp in Lakefield National Park.

Day 6 - Sat (BLD): Old Laura Homestead then the Battlecamp Road to Cooktown Camp near Cooktown tonight.

Day 7 - Sun (BL): Black Mountain and the Lion's Den Hotel before the Bloomfield Track and Cape Tribulation, weather permitting. The Daintree rainforest before arriving in Cairns.

The Cape York "Discoverer"
is an 8 day drive/fly camping safari

Day 1 - Mon (LD): Split Rock to see ancient Aboriginal rock art then Lakefield National Park to our overnight campsite in the Park.

Day 2 - Tue (BLD): Wildlife in the Park this morning then historic Musgrave, Coen and the Archer River enroute to Weipa on the Gulf of Carpentaria. We camp in Weipa.

Day 3 - Wed (BLD): Tour Weipa’s mine or a half day fishing (both optional). After lunch travel to our camp at Moreton Telegraph Office on the Wenlock River.

Day 4 - Thu (BLD): 4WD action, adventure and fun on the Telegraph Track today. We camp at beautiful Eliot (Twin/Indian Head) Falls tonight.

Day 5 - Fri (BLD): Swim in the fall’s spring-fed pools then cross the Jardine River to our camp at Punsand Bay on the tropical shores of Torres Strait for three balmy nights.

Day 6 - Sat (BD): A tropical cruise to Thursday Island, fish with a professional guide (both optional), bushwalk or simply relax by the pool or at the beach with a good book.

Day 7 - Sun (BLD): Visit the Lockerbie Scrub, and Somerset on Albany Passage. Now, an emotional walk to the very top of Australia, CAPE YORK!

Day 8 - Mon (B): Fly over the Great Barrier Reef to Cairns
