4 Day Kakadu and Darwin

Day 1. Darwin.
On arrival be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a free day to explore this tropical city.
Darwin – Mirambeena Resort (Budget), Holiday Inn Darwin (Standard), Novotel Atrium (First-Class).

Day 2. Kakadu National Park, Yellow Water Wildlife Cruise, Nourlangie Rock. (L)
Travel into the heart of World Heritage Kakadu. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre before joining a guided cruise on Yellow Water billabong, keeping a look out for saltwater crocodiles. After lunch, visit Nourlangie Rock to view galleries of ancient Aboriginal rock art.
Kakadu – Kakadu Lodge (Budget, shared facilities), Aurora Kakadu (Standard), Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn (First-Class).

Day 3. Ubirr Art, East Alligator River Cruise. (L)
Take a scenic flight over the Arnhem Land escarpment (own expense). Travel to Ubirr to view Aboriginal rock art. View the Nardab floodplain from the top. Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River with an Aboriginal guide. By special permission, take a short walk into Arnhem Land. Visit Bowali Visitor Centre. Return to Darwin, stopping at Window on the Wetlands for a glass of wine while overlooking the floodplains.

Day 4. Darwin.
Transfer to the airport this afternoon.

Day 2. World Heritage Kakadu National Park, Nourlangie Rock Art, Yellow Water Cruise. (L)
Travel into Kakadu National Park where there is time for a scenic flight (own expense). Visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre before joining a guided cruise on Yellow Water billabong. After lunch, visit Nourlangie Rock to view Aboriginal art. Stop at Window on the Wetlands to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while overlooking the floodplains. Alternative (May – Nov.): Substitute Day 2 with Ubirr and Guluyambi Tour (Tour No. KUK5 – no extra cost).

Day 3. Katherine Gorge Cruise, Edith Falls. (L)
Enjoy lunch at Nitmiluk Visitor Centre before joining a cruise on Katherine Gorge. View galleries of ancient Aboriginal rock art as you cruise with your guide. This afternoon, visit beautiful Edith Falls for a swim.

Day 4. Litchfield National Park. (L)
Travel to Litchfield National Park, a stunning 146 000 hectare region of pristine Top End wilderness. See the striking Florence Falls, and visit Tolmer Falls. Continue to Wangi Falls for a swim or a nature walk.

Day 5. Darwin.
Free time in the morning before transferring to Darwin Airport.
