Beautiful Litchfield National Park - Florence, Tolmer
and Wangi Waterfalls

Park, a stunning 7720 mile region of pristine Top End wilderness. With
scattered weathered sandstone outcrops, monsoon rain forest, year-round
waterfalls and spring-fed streams, Litchfield National Park was originally
the home of the Wagait Aboriginal people. Ascend the rocky Tabletop Range
where dry woodlands and forests dominate the huge sandstone plateau. Stop
to view masses of magnetic termite mounds, some standing over two yards
tall. See the picturesque double waterfall forming Florence Falls, surrounded
by monsoon rain forest. Continue to Tolmer Falls, noted as one of the
most spectacular waterfalls in the park, cascading over two high escarpments
and plunging into a deep waterhole below. This long, narrow waterfall
puts on a spectacular display in the wet season. Journey to Wangi Falls
where there's time for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters at
the waterfall's base. Or perhaps take a nature walk to the top of the
falls.
