You must be a certified diver to participate in scuba diving, and provide a current certification card along with hyperbaric emergency evacuation dive insurance coverage. Australian laws prohibit diving if you suffer from certain medical conditions. It is your responsibility to inquire if you have heart, respiratory and or asthma conditions or diabetes. If you take certain medications you may also be prohibited from diving in Australia.

Dive the Great Barrier Reef from $1862 - 8 Days / 5 Nights

Since 1983 Pro Dive has developed and maintained an international reputation as one of the premier dive companies in Cairns offering PADI accredited scuba diving training as well as live-aboard extended reef trips. For the certified diver or snorkeler our 3 day/2 night trip departs six times per week from Cairns. This trip offers up to 11 dives. Our two premium purpose built dive vessels provide comfortable living conditions with all twin share cabins (maximum 32 passengers). We visit a large variety of our 16 exclusive sites over the trip duration. Heron Island - Great Barrier Reef Island Stay from $2230 - 8 Days / 5 Nights

Heron Island lies on the Tropic of Capricorn (23 degrees south of the Equator), and 73 kms (45 miles) off the coast of Gladstone. Its location right on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has always given Heron the advantage over other resorts. Declared a national park in 1943, Heron Island is a true coral cay – making it the first choice for nature lovers, researchers and divers from around the world. Heron Island is a four star property and meals are included in the tariff, making Heron an affordable dive vacation. During the day the reef constantly changes and over 20 dive sites within 15 minutes of the island make for easy access while also allowing you time to enjoy the resort and activities. There are two dives daily with a choice of over a dozen sites. Adventure and night dives are also available. The island’s dive shop has all the latest gear for hire and sale.

Dive in Luxury from $2550 - 10 Days / 7 Nights

Spirit of Freedom offers unsurpassed live-aboard cruising if you are a discerning dive traveler who likes to enjoy your little luxuries while experiencing some great diving. Owned and operated by Tusa Dive Charters, the company has 17 years of diving experience. At 120 feet (37 metres), Spirit is one of Australia’s largest live-aboard dive vessels and is equipped with electronic stabilizers to ensure smooth cruising. Cod Hole & Northern Great Barrier Reef from $2205 - 9 Days / 6 Nights

Taka Dive Adventures has been operating dive trips to the Cod Hole, Great Barrier Reef and remote Coral Sea diving for the adventure scuba diver for 15 years. Adventure Diving and Research Expeditions from $3452 -

Undersea Explorer Adventure Diving and Research Expeditions is a live-aboard scuba diving operation pioneering an innovative concept which enhances and complements tourism, while supporting marine research and education. Passengers enjoy the best adventure diving with the added bonus of enthusiastic researchers undertaking projects around them. This makes for interesting and informative marine biology presentations, slide shows and hands-on learning in the water. Departing from Port Douglas, the expeditions include six days of diving (20-22 dives) with 20 guests maximum.
