Day 1 Leave Los Angeles late evening

Day 2 Cross the International Dateline

Day 3 Auckland
Arrive Auckland and clear customs & immigration. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a city highlights tour, including Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World. Accommodation, 1 night

Day 4 Auckland - Rotorua
Travel from Auckland to Waitomo, where you are taken on a tour of the glow-worm caves. Time is allowed for lunch before continuing to Rotorua, an area rich in Maori traditions and culture, and renowned for it’s geo-thermal activity. (L) Accommodation, 2 nights

Day 5 Rotorua
Today, a half day tour to show Rotorua’s main highlights, including Whakerewarewa Thermal Reserve with it’s bubbling mud pools and steaming geysers, and also view a sheep show and sheep dog demonstration at Rainbow Springs and Farm. You will have some time at leisure this afternoon, perhaps to visit the spa pools, then this evening attend a traditional Hangi (feast) with displays of Maori culture and heritage. (D)

Day 6 Rotorua – Queenstown
Fly to Queenstown, situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in the South Island. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation, 3 nights

Day 7 Milford Sound
Travel along the edge of Lake Wakatipu beneath the rugged Remarkables Mountain Range, to the town of Te Anua. After a brief stop, continue into the Fiordland National Park and on to Milford Sound. Board the vessel for a cruise on the Sound itself, with an opportunity to see waterfalls, rainforest, seals and perhaps even dolphins. (L)

Day 8 Queenstown
Some time at leisure in Queenstown to choose from the many tours and activities available in this exciting resort town.

Day 9 Queenstown – Christchurch
Travel by coach from Queenstown to Mount Cook, via the Lindis Pass. Time is allowed for optional scenic flights and excursions, as well as lunch, before continuing the journey to the ‘English’ city of Christchurch.

Day 10 Christchurch
Todays tour travels past beautiful harbors and through green farmland en route to Akaroa, located on the Banks Peninsula. Join the Nature & Harbour cruise to explore the volcanic harbour, perhaps with the opportunity to see dolphins, fur seals, and numerous sea birds. Enjoy time in the quaint French town of Akaroa before returning to Christchurch. (L)

Day 11 Christchurch – Sydney
Transfer to your flight to Sydney. On arrival, clear customs and immigration before transferring to your city hotel. Accommodation, 3 nights

Day 12 Sydney
Enjoy a 2-course lunch at Doyles Restaurant before a highlights tour of Sydney. Points of interest this afternoon will include landmarks such as Mrs Macquaries’s Chair, Double Bay and Rose Bay. inish the afternoon with a coffee Cruise on Sydney Harbour (L).

Day 13 Sydney
The day is at leisure to explore Sydney on your own.

Day 14 Sydney – Ayers Rock
This morning, transfer for your flight to Ayers Rock. Mid-afternoon, join a tour to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a spectacular rock formation 20 miles from Ayers Rock. Stop at a special viewpoint for a glass of champagne or juice, as you watch the awe-inspiring desert sun set. Accommodation, 2 nights

Day 15 Ayers Rock
An early start for The Spirit of Uluru excursion this morning, which starts with watching the sun rise over Uluru (Ayers Rock) while enjoying a boxed continental breakfast. Then head off for a tour around the base of Ayers Rock, stopping at various places so you may walk up to view more closely the waterholes and rock art. The tour ends at the Uluru and Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Tonight, a special evening that starts with a didgeridoo welcome, followed by a buffet dinner under the stars, and an introduction to ‘The Sounds of Silence’ in the outback. (B)

Day 16 Ayers Rock – Cairns
Today you fly to Cairns, gateway to the Tropical North, and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation, 3 nights

Day 17 Cairns
Today, the highlight of any tour to Australia, is a trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Once at the pontoon, you will have the opportunity to snorkel the clear waters, or view the coral and marine life from a subsea viewer. A smorgasboard lunch is included on board as you enjoy some air conditioned comfort, or spend time enjoy the tropical sun. (L)

Day 18 Cairns
A day at leisure for optional tours, or last minute souvenir shopping.

Day 19 Cairns – Home
Fly Cairns (via Sydney) to Los Angeles.
