Day 1 Leave Los Angeles late evening

Day 2 Cross the International Dateline

Day 3 Melbourne
On arrival in Melbourne, you are met and transferred to your accommodation. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Melbourne.

Day 4 Melbourne
This morning is at leisure before an early afternoon tour. We travel along picturesque St. Kilda Road to Melbourne’s closest beach. Follow the Beach Road with it’s varied architectural styles around Port Philip Bay until we turn off and head to Western Port Bay. At Philip Island Wildlife Park we see koalas and kangaroos before a three-course dinner. The penguins come ashore at sunset and we are there to witness them make their way through the sand dunes to their burrows. We then head back to Melbourne. (D)

Day 5 Melbourne
At leisure.

Day 6 Melbourne – Adelaide
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Adelaide. The capital of South Australia is gracious, spacious and green – its central square mile ringed by parklands. Transfer to your accommodation. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 7 Adelaide – Kangaroo Island
This morning you fly to Kangaroo Island. The tour starts with Cygnet River Valley and Lathami Conservation Park. Lunch is a delicious barbecue with local wine. Walk with your guide amongst Australian sea lions at Seal Bay Conservation Park and visit Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park. This afternoon you are taken to your accommodation. (L)

Day 8 Kangaroo Island – Adelaide
The second day you head out to Flinders Chase National Park, home to kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, echidnas and many birds. At Cape du Couedic, visit a New Zealand fur seal colony. Further down the coast, explore Remarkable Rocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before exploring more of the island. You will be dropped off after the tour at Kingscote airport for your flight back to Adelaide. (L) Accommodation, 2 nights

Day 9 Adelaide
Day at leisure.

Day 10 Adelaide – Ayers Rock
Transfer to the airport for your flight via Alice Springs to Ayers Rock. On arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation. This afternoon’s tour shows you the majestic domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Travel through the great dune formations and discover the secrets of plant and animal survival in the desert. As the sun begins to dip, stroll into the grand recesses of Olgas Gorge and enjoy the sunset bathing the Olgas in changing hues of red!

Day 11 Ayers Rock
This morning, enjoy a vehicle-based tour around Ayers Rock, which begins with the beauty of sunrise on the Rock. Short, guided walks take you to areas of special interest at the base of Uluru to view Aboriginal art and the culture and creation time stories are explained. Visit the Maruka art and crafts center where the work of Aboriginal artists is displayed. This afternoon and evening are at leisure to enjoy the resort facilities. (B)

Day 12 Ayers Rock – Cairns
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cairns. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation for 3 nights. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 13 Cairns
Transfer to Cairns wharf and board the ‘Ocean Spirit’, a luxury 105ft sailing vessel. Sail to Michaelmas Cay, known as the Isle of the Birds, a year round home to thousands of sea birds of some 14 different species. It is a spectacular coral reef, which thrives in the ideal conditions of clear, shallow, sunlit water. Lunch is a buffet of seafood, hot and cold meats, roasted potatoes, salads and tropical fruit, freshly prepared in the spacious galley. We spend four hours at the reef with a variety of activities. (L)

Day 14 Cairns
This morning, you are transferred from your hotel to Freshwater Railway station. Once aboard the train, sit back to enjoy the scenic journey through tunnels and past waterfalls to Kuranda. On arrival, you are taken to the Butterfly Sanctuary (optional extra cost), followed by some leisure time to explore the village and markets before meeting your host back at the Skyrail Terminal. Marvel at the spectacular views as you glide silently above the rainforest canopy. Skyrail ends at Caravonica Lake where we enjoy a buffet lunch at the Boomerang Restaurant. Next, enter the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre. (L)

Day 15 Cairns
At leisure.

Day 16 Cairns – Sydney
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Sydney. On arrival transfer to your accommodation, 4 nights.

Day 17 Sydney
Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken for a 2 course seafood lunch at the world famous "Doyles on the Beach" restaurant at Watsons Bay. Then after a tour of the highlights of the city, board a sailing catamaran to enjoy a leisurely cruise on magnificent Sydney Harbour. (L)

Day 18 Sydney
Just one and a half hours from Sydney you will experience the magical beauty of ancient landscapes, native fauna and flora. Stop at a wildlife park for a rewarding experience where you will come in close contact with koalas, kangaroos, birds and reptiles. Walk through the cathedral of ferns - a lush prehistoric rainforest. Dive along narrow country roads with magnificent valley views, including the famous three sisters - hear of the stories behind the history of this fascinating rock formation. There is the chance we may even encounter a mob of wild kangaroos - the region is known for its wildlife! This is truly a day to remember in the Aussie bush! (L)

Day 19 Sydney
At leisure. Or enjoy the time exploring Sydney at your own pace.

Day 20 Sydney – Home
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Los Angeles.
