Day 2 - Christchurch/ Aoraki/Mount Cook/ Queenstown
(369 miles) (optional meal plans begin today) Travel south across the Canterbury Plains to Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, then on to Queenstown.

Day 3 - Milford Sound Day Excursion
Travel with Great Sights to Milford Sound for an unforgettable Milford Sound Red Boat Cruise. Return to Queenstown.

Day 4 - Queenstown
A free day to enjoy the many activities on offer.

Day 5 - Queenstown/ Franz Josef
(251 miles) Today travel north, enjoying West Coast scenery through the Haast Pass and on to Franz Josef.

Day 6 - Franz Josef Village
Today is at leisure to explore glacier country.

Day 7 - Franz Josef/Tranzalpine Train/ Christchurch
(249 miles) Today travel to Greymouth and board the scenic TranzAlpine train (Seat-in-Coach only) for a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery as it traverses the Southern Alps. Travel across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.

Day 5 - Queenstown/ Wanaka
(73 miles) Travel to Wanaka through the Kawarau Gorge. A must-see is the Wanaka War Birds Museum.

Day 6 - Wanaka/ Franz Josef
(178 miles) Travel north today past Lake Hawea. Enjoy the rugged West Coast scenery through the Haast Pass and continue on to Franz Josef.

Day 7 - Franz Josef/ Christchurch
(249 miles) Resume the tour today, traveling to Greymouth to board the scenic TranzAlpine train (Seat-in-Coach only) to arrive in Christchurch.
