We begin with a bushwalking warm-up of two easy day trips in the Cradle Mountain- Lake St. Clair National Park. We visit the magnificent Ballroom Forest, walk beside the cool waters of Lake Dove and hike to the summit of Cradle Mountain for panoramic views.

Warmed up, we travel to the Central Plateau and the Walls of Jerusalem, where we hoist backpacks for a three day wilderness walk. This once-glaciated region consists of five main peaks dissected by open, grassy valleys. Our base camp will be chosen from the many lakes surrounded by wildflowers and groves of pencil pine we pass along the way.

Upon completion of our walk, we return to Launceston for a welcome hot shower in comfortable Hotel. The next morning we mount our bicycles and pedal for five leisurely days down the beautiful and rugged east coast. The support vehicle carries all our gear , leaving us free for light riding.

At Cotes Bay we have a day of leisurely walking through the spectacular Freycinet National Park. A day of vehicle travel through Hobart and south takes us to the Huon and Picton Valleys for the final leg of our adventure.

The head waters of the Picton River rise in the mountains of Southwest Tasmania and flow through lush forests, before joining the Huon River on its way to the sea. We launch our rafts on the upper Picton River to begin one and a half days of river revelry - the rapids are exciting yet not too wild. We finish our adventure back in Hobart.
